Jakes Bitter
Jakes Bitter starts with the tale of two, young, music-loving friends who grew up together in a lonely suburb of the Midwest town of Cincinnati. Will Siemer and Nick Kramer, friends since grade school, individually found their love of music and together formed Jakes Bitter in the cold Cincinnati winter of 2004. The two had previously worked independently on song writing, and only collaborated on a few songs. But after recording the dulcet, acoustic ballad "Photograph Stills" together, the results could not be denied and the union became permanent as Jakes Bitter. The two began song writing for their first CD "A Perfect Place."

William Siemer bares his soul with his intricate lyrics reflecting on gripping, relatable emotions of the human psyche. His singing/song-writing evokes the mind, body, and soul through the trials and tribulations of his life.

Nick Kramer augments the mellow, mature voice of Will with an eclectic sound of melodic piano parts, sugary, arpeggio acoustic guitars, and a solid rhythm section of drum and bass.

Together they create "A Perfect Place." The catchy hooks, melodies, music, and lyrics, all draw on their diverse range of influences that
includes the compelling lyrics and music of Death Cab For Cutie, Elliott Smith, The Shins, Iron & Wine, Guster, Paul Simon, The Beatles, Jim Croce, and Tom Petty. The album was produced independently and recorded on cheap equipment and computers in their homes in Cincinnati. With little money and recording experience, the album's sound is refreshing with a raw, back-to-roots feel.

Jakes Bitter hopes to share their music with anyone willing to listen. Their hard work and passion for making, and listening to music are displayed in "A Perfect Place."
