It all began at the age of 6 when I saw the movie about The Who called "The Kids Are Alright". From then on I knew what I wanted to do with my life. The clips on that movie turned me on to The Who and I am still a huge fan to this day!
As I got older, my tastes became more varied and I started to get into drummers like Carl Palmer, Neil Peart, and Billy Cobham. Later I got into jazz and was inspired by drummers like Gene Krupa, Louis Bellson, Papa Jo Jones, Chick Webb and of course "The Chairman Of The Board" Buddy Rich. I was floored when I heard a recording, "Rich vs Roach", and discovered the other side of jazz drumming, Max Roach. That led to Art Blakely and the kindest drummer I've had the privilege to meet, the late Elvin Jones.
I am self taught with the exception of a few lessons and clinics I've attended. Keeping myself open to experience different styles and techniques is how I have been able to get where I am today.
My newest project is a little more left field. showing drums can be melodic. Featuring electronic percussion, loops, and acustic drums. Some of it sounds like music from a low budget horror movie! and it's 100% live!!
