"Uniforms motion picture score - Stamp Collection"
info
i composed a great deal of music for Tim Boyd's film 'Uniforms" -in fact, we would often joke at the bargain Tim was getting - 3 original scores for 1 film! The reason for this was that with each cut of the film, artistic integrity dictated that new music be written to support the new narrative flow that was created. The first cut of the film i scored was a little over an hour long, and the final cut came in at a little over 30 minutes - and with each different version the tempo and sometimes even the emotion of particular scenes would change. In addition, Tim slaved on this project for over 3 years - and when each new cut would appear, i had made significant advancements musically - i was freshly excited to take a new crack at the material - with my new toys! Ultimately, what happened was a mixture of the old and the new were used in the final cut - and, while i was saddened to see some tunes go, it felt like the right answer - the score, as it stands in his film now, truly spans a huge period of musical time for me, and it's very interesting to watch.

this is one of the newer cues i wrote for the film.
thematic material developed for the character Carl, in this particular track, would go on to also figure in Sultan's segment, thus linking the two characters - for good reason, i assure you!
