East of West
East of West is more than just a band name, but rather the story of two artists with one vision - to create feel good music!

Steve Jeffrey and John Cardoso, maintain a balance as co-writers and co-producers on Crossing Borders, an uplifting interpretation of contemporary jazz. Recorded at The Complex in Los Angeles, California, this CD features world renowned musicians; Andy Suzuki on saxophones (David Benoit , Kilauea, Dave Brubeck,Chick Corea), Ron Pedley on piano/keys (Barry Manilow, Air Supply, Kombo), and Bob Fernandez on percussion (Barry Manilow, Frank Zappa, Dionne Warwick, Tito Puente).

At the time of production, Steve and John decided to name their project East of West to reflect the musical influences and synergies that existed in both geographical locations. This dynamic team united in Boston to embark upon their musical aspirations and collaborate unique musical writing styles. Subsequently, Steve and John rejoined in Los Angeles to record and produce their collection of life-inspired jazz. Steve Jeffery is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he majored in Music Performance and Composition. John Cardoso is a graduate from both the Grove School of Music and Five Towns College, where he majored in Music Education and Performance.

Your tune was awesome, and we look forward to having you all become a cornerstone in a brand new music median.

On behalf of the alumni association and the Carrol Center, I would like to thank East of West for your extraordinary performance. This was the most successful and enjoyable event weve had to date. Your music appeared to cast a spell of joy and happiness on all of us in the audience.
MICHAEL ROSEN, CARROLL CENTER, Newton, MA Former band mates in several central California rock outfits in the late '80s, bassist Steve Jeffrey and drummer John Cardoso later found jazz and re-found each other. Adding sax, piano, and other lead instruments, they formed this ensemble. The tight group plays with a glowing fusion sheen, but also betrays its rock roots with pulsing drums and climactic phrasing.
