| On the surface Thundas Ink could be compared to commercial rock bands such as Snow Patrol, U2 or even Pearl Jam, but in essence they have the depth and ability to stand-alone and ignite their own sonic firestorm around the globe. With all 4 members deriving from more than 10 years in a broad spectrum of eclectic music circles and styles, here you will find an experienced yet inspired and uncompromising ensemble. Vocalist and instigator, Josh Arnold (aka Mr Joshua), has evolved from being a folk based alternative artist to developing a more electric mainstream sound before creating Thundas Ink. As the songwriter and centerpiece of the band he was determined to surround himself with equally passionate and creatively receptive musicians. So in early 2007 he took his new batch of songs to long time friend, producer, and guitarist and rock extraordinaire Jason Millhouse, aka Dig. They than recruited the bass player and drummer, Mark and OJ, from the popular underground progressive funk band, Afro Dizzi Act. Suddenly the worlds of rock, funk and folk, alternative pop and other genres that defy explanation converged and molded the Thundas Ink sound. In summary, YES, this is a blast of commercial rock music with mass appeal and by all means compare this band to industry giants like Snow Patrol, U2 or Pearl Jam, but listen harder and their debut Album Episode 1 will take you on a far deeper journey establishing them as their very own force. |
