Creating a startling combination of poetic lyrics and moving melodies, writer Kelcy Wilburn became musician Hanging Daisy in August of 2003, before changing her name to Kelcy Mae in 2004. Kelcy Mae's music is a combination of contemporary acoustic folk and progressive alternative rock. With enchanting melodies and smooth lyrics, she demands the audiences attention at every show.
Kelcy found that by combining her love for the English language with her innate passion for music, she could give audiences a fresh new sound, something relatively uncommon in the seemingly corporate cookie-cutter world of music. During her time at Loyola University New Orleans, Kelcy Wilburn has found her voice, and Kelcy Mae has found her audience.
Kelcy, who sings and plays acoustic guitar, is commonly backed with piano or keyboards, bass, cello, and percussion.
